What we copy – and don’t

We don’t sort websites into static and dynamic. We judge every feature we find. A WordPress site has a database but can still move – if visitors don’t need that database.

Three possible outcomes

  1. CompatibleThe site can move automatically without losing anything you or your visitors use.
  2. Compatible with exceptionsSome features can’t come along or work differently. You see exactly which, on which page, and approve them before you continue.
  3. Not compatibleThe site needs something we can’t provide safely and correctly (e.g. a checkout). You can register interest for future support.

Every limitation is tied to a page and a feature, with what we saw, how serious it is, what you can do instead and a code. We never silently remove a form, a booking button or a payment.

Your e-mail and your domain

Your e-mail may use the same domain as your website. That is why we only change the web records (A for the domain and CNAME for www). MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC are not affected. We read them before the move and check afterwards that they are unchanged.

The copy takes over the domain only after it has been compared with the original page by page (URLs, titles, text and redirects).
